Lanterns

Lanterns - We have a new challenge up at Crafts 4 Eternity and Alphabet Challenge Blog.

At Crafts 4 Eternity our challenge is Oriental Theme. This is Chinese New Year time and the animal for this year is the horse. I think it is odd that we call it Chinese New Year, but all Asian countries also celebrate it at the same time.

We have lived in Japan and South Korea and it is really a big deal over there, especially in South Korea. My daughter, whom we adopted from South Korea, really likes the customs that go along with this holiday with her Korean in-laws. They bow to the parents, who then give them money. My husband teases her that he will give her a dollar if she bows to him. Jennifer doesn't think it is as funny as he does.

The challenge at Alphabet Challenge Blog is Z for Zesty colors. We are to use citrus colors. Now you know why I have Chinese lanterns in orange and yellow.

I don't know who makes the stamp. It has been in my stash forever. I don't know if I have ever even used it before.

The bling at the bottom is frosted pearls that I got from my friend over at Pizzazz Aplenty. She has awesome prices on her lovely crafty goodies.

Poppy's in her Hair

Poppy's in her Hair - We have a new challenge up today at Creative Card Crew. This fortnight our challenge is a recipe - 1 image, 2 designer papers, and 3 pearls/gemstones.

My designer papers are DCWV, Pocketful of Poppies. This was the first glitter paper pad that I ever bought. I still love using it.

We have a new sponsor this year. It is Aurora Wings. I in love with these images. They are so whimsy and have really captured my imagination. I wish I could get my pens to do what is in my head with these gorgeous images. I know, practice and more practice.

I added a bit of fine glitter to the centers of the flowers.

I used a spray from the wedding aisle at Hobby Lobby. My favorite place to craft shop. I finished off the spray wrapping ribbon around it and adding a bow.

I added 3 pearls to the bottom right corner of the card.

Hog Wild for You

Hog Wild for You - It is time for another sketch at Seems a Little Sketchy. Of course if you checked in with our challenge blog, then you have already had a peek at the sketch. In case you don't know, we have a list of all future sketches in the page area of the blog. This way you will know what is coming and work ahead for DT projects and still get to play along with our sketch. We are hoping that many of you will take advantage of this and join us in getting sketchy.

For my card, I used designer paper from American Crafts XOXO.

Here is our sketch for this challenge.

My image is "I'm hog wild over you" by our sponsor, Robyn's Fetish. I colored the image with Copics and added some Stickles to the girls bow and sleeve. A also used some Diamond Glaze on the glass to make it look and feel like a real glass.

I used SB for the image and it's mat, then added lots of tiny gemstones. It really sparkles!

The hears are made using CM punches, feathers and rose buds.

I hoped you like my card and will join us at Seems a Little Sketchy.

Clear it out Challenge CASE and anything goes - I cased Erin's from the previous challenge.

A Time of Love

A Time of Love - How believe how quick Valentine's Day has come up. Life has been such a whirlwind for me lately. My daughter does foster care and I help her a lot. We have 2 new ones, that are just precious, but are taking up a lot of my time.

During their nap, I was able to get this project done. If you are regular follower of mine, then you know that I have a group of ladies, that I craft with on Wednesdays. While I won't be able to go until we get the 2 new children settled and in day care, I will still go to the Valentines exchange that I do with my crafting group.

This project is my little gift to them and my DT project for Crafts 4 Eternity

What is our challenge at Crafts 4 Eternity? It is to use this Tic Tac Toe board.

I went the 3rd row down - Not a Card, Clock, and White.

My project is a little goodie bag  (my not a card,) made using tulle. The clock (my clock) is an image that I found on line. I just googled love clock and got a ton of images to choose from. I selected this one to also serve as my white. I cut the clock and frame with SB, labels 4 and labels 4 gold. The tag was tied on using a gold and cream twine that I picked up at the dollar spot at Target.

Here is the bunch of them, all ready to go!

Pop-up Card

Pop-up Card - I have one card for 2 teams for you this morning.

The first one up is Crafts 4 Eternity. Our challenge there is More than 1 fold and we are sponsored by Sassy Studio Designs.

My other team is Alphabet Challenge Blog and our challenge there is Y for young. We are to create a card for someone young.

My card is a pop up one. I like this design because it folds flat and is still easy to mail. I won't be mailing this one. It is for a little 3 year old sweetie, that is staying with my daughter.

This is a free standing pop up card. You can find a great tutorial here.

I have used Sleeping Beauty Sassy for my image. Isn't she adorable? I colored her with Copics. Her mat is punched with MS punch around the page and I added to heart gemstones.

My sentiment is heat embossed with gold and the border is heat embossed with Pink Princess embossing glitter.

The flower is a Susan's Garden. I added some Stickles to it.

Flower Power

Flower Power - The new challenge at the Sweet Pea Stampers is... Flower Power.

I love it when I can use lots of pink. Can you guess that pink is my favorite color. My DP is Pressed Petals Baby Girl. I love this pad that I picked up at Bit Lots ages ago.

My die is Memory Box (new.) The glitter hearts were another bargain, that I picked up in the clearance area at Walmart.

For my card I used Elaine Cox's Mirima in digi. Also available in rubber. I colored her with Copics.

The big flower is Melissa Frances trim, that I rolled, spread and a gemstone glued to the center. I also used another Memory Box die for the green stem. I also used several ribbon rose and several buds that I clipped from a stem.

Freshman

Freshman - We have a new challenge up at Creative Card Crew. This fortnight our challenge is to use this awesome sketch. As an extra bonus, Seems a Little Sketchy (see yesterday's post) is also using this sketch and you can use it and enter your card/project in both challenges!!

The sketch was created by Lauri at Seems a Little Sketchy.

Don't you just love Kenny K's images? This school girl is called Freshman. I colored her with Copic's and fussy cut her.

My DP is Authentique's Seasonal: Summer. My fence is a SB die and the 3 yellow pearls are a Viva Decor pearl pen.

My sentiment is Hot Off the Press. The outer rose is heat embossed and is SU; as is the punch.

Foxy

Foxy - We are starting a new sketch challenge at Seems a Little Sketchy. Before I get to my card, we have a few things to share with you about Seems a Little Sketchy.

First of all, for this challenge we are being joined with the challenge at Creative Card Crew. Both challenges will be using this sketch for their challenge. You can make one card, using this sketch and enter it in both challenges, and you can enter up to 3 projects at each site, so you could make 3 cards using this sketch and enter it in each challenge.

Now, Creative Card Crew doesn't go live until tomorrow, so those of you who visit here at Seems a Little Sketchy are getting a leg up on this challenge.

Both challenges are fortnightly, however Creative Card Crew closes at noon (US CST) on the Sunday prior to their new challenge, so you will have to get it in a bit earlier there.

We are also trying something new, in that you will find a page at Seems a Little Sketchy that shows are sketches for the next couple of months. That's right we are showing you our sketches before they go live, so that those of you who are on DT's and like to work ahead, you will have our sketch before it goes live and will be able to enter our challenge when it does go live, with a card that you had made a month or more out. I must caution though, that the no back linking rule still applies, so just be sure to get your timing right.

Now let's get down to this sketch. It was created by my teamie, Lauri. I really like this sketch. It is simple and easy to follow.

We are sponsored by Scribbles and they gave us some really cute images to play with. This one is Foxy 2. I colored it with Copics.

My DP is 7 Gypsies, Venice. I like the dark browns in this paper pad. All of the dies are SB. I finished off the die with some tiny chocolate pearls from my dear friend Judy at Pizzazz Aplenty. She has all of these tiny pearls in different colors and her prices are fabulous. She is having a Buy One Get One Free sale going on until the end of the month. These pearls were one of my buys from her sale.

Sentiment and stamp are SU.

Shopping Our Stash #133 use something new. the cream colored paper was cut with a new SB and the pearls are also new.

Merry and Bright

Merry and Bright - Hi everyone! It is time for another challenge at Crafts 4 Eternity. This week we have a sketch challenge for you.

It is a really easy sketch. My page came together so quick.

My main DP is DCWV Christmas Made. All of the other papers came from my scrap drawer, so are a mixture from many left overs.

The year numbers were cut using my Cricut machine, the Old West cartridge.

This is the Christmas card that my eldest daughter sent out this year.

Dangling Time

Dangling Time - It is time for a new challenge at Crafts 4 Eternity and Alphabet Challenge Blog

The challenge for Crafts 4 Eternity is vintage and is sponsored by Stamping All Day. The prize is 3 digi downloads.

Alphabet Challenge Blog is challenging everyone to make something X for eXtra special. I believe that all of the gold makes this card special. While we don't have a prize for Alphabet Challenge Blog, this challenge is sure to bring in lots of eXtra Special cards and project for everyone to see. I know that the team has some real eye candy for this one.

My papers are from my scrap drawer and I really don't know who the manufacturer is. The image is SU, stamped with VersaMark and gold detail embossing power. The doily is CL.

I used gold gemstone ribbon and some pleated gold ribbon the bow was tied using my Bow Easy.
