New Technique - Frisket and Air Brushing

New Technique - Frisket and Air Brushing - Today's challenge at Crafts 4 Eternity, sponsored by Floppy Latte Designs, is to use something new. It can be a new product, perhaps that Santa brought you, or it can be a new technique.

I recently took an air brushing class and decided to use it, as my something new. This is the first time that I have done it outside of the classroom.

I started out using this really cool product, Liquid Frisket. I found my bottle at Micheal's. I used a small detail paintbrush and "painted" it over the image. The paintbrush is easy to clean with soapy water.

Here is the image with the dried Frisket and the air brushing.

I then rubbed the Frisket away. Pretty cool, uh.

Here is the finished image all colored in. The image is A Day for Daisies, Birthday Mermaid, colored and air brushed with Copics.

My designer paper is Summer Soul, by Fancy Pants Designs. I inked everything with Salty Ocean, cut the image with a SB, added some ribbon and gemstones.

White Christmas

White Christmas - It is everyone's favorite challenge, Anything Goes at Creative Card Crew. This challenge will run for 3 weeks, so you will have lots of time to get something in. I know that many of us will not have time for crafting, but should you get a few minutes in, come and join us at Creative Card Crew. We are sponsored by the Scrapping Center, which has lots of crafty goodies.

I wanted to get just one last Christmas card in before the season is over. I have had this stamp set for several years, yet have never used it. I love the tree. So many beautiful swirls. I added gemstone to all of the baubles that are on the tree and topped it with a gemstone star.

I heat embossed with SU's glitter embossing powder on the bottom layer of the card. It is hard to see, but in real life, it really sparkles. I bought this snowflake/pearl garland several years back and I really enjoyed using it.

The card was finished up with SU glimmer paint that was mixed with alcohol and misted the entire card. That is the hint of silver that you see.

Fish

Fish - It is time for our last challenge of the year at Seems a Little Sketchy. My card is really pretty simple and I can't even take much credit for the design, as I scrap lifted it from someone on the internet. I did use different inks and I misted it with Glimmer Mist, Irradesant Gold.

Lauri made this lovely Christmas sketch for us. Isn't it beautiful?

The fish is a great image and stamps so well. This is the best shot of the Glimmer Mist that I was able to get. Do you see the gold around the head of the fish?

The button also got hit with the Glimmer Mist.

I finished of my card with 3 pearls.

This challenge will run for 3 weeks instead of our usual 2 weeks. I hope that you join our challenge.

Red/Black Page

Red/Black Page - It is time for another Crafts 4 Eternity challenge. This week is everyone's favorite challenge.....Anything Goes!

For my project, I made a scrap book page. I have a group of ladies that I get together with each Wednesday to craft with. We always make cards and little gifts for each other. My gift to them was this scrap book page, that we can all use to put our group photo in.

One of the ladies really likes red and black together, so this page is for you, Kay!

I started with black card stock and then used a MS punch around the page set on glittery hound tooth paper.

My next layer was red card stock cut with my Cricut, using the Gypsy Wandering cartridge. My next layer was a giant snowflake paper.

For the photo mat, I used the glitter hounds tooth and more red and black card stock.

My embellishment is a feather and a tulle/pearl wire. I then used black card stock, silver foil and white glitter paper to make the snowflake with a SB.

I popped up the layers of the snowflake, with pop dots.

I used a flower strip of bling and a MB snowflake die.

Simon Says Stamp Bling - I know that all of the glitter is hard to see, especially on the hounds tooth paper, but it is there.

Blue Bling - This is my last time to GDT for ABC-Challenge. I have really enjoyed it and want to thank Nikki and the rest of the team for having me.

This challenge is B for..... Bling, Blue and Bow and is sponsored by Stamp Fairy.

My DP's are Bo Bunny's Powder Mountain Collection. Which I inked with Pumice Stone distress ink.

To give it even more bling, I added some square, blue gemstones and a couple of gemstone swirls.

In the Pink

In the Pink - Hi, I'm out town in Branson, Missouri. We are having a fabulous time with our 4 year old grandson.

Last night, we went on the Polar Express. It was fabulous. They had so many tiny details that made it such a wonderful experience.

The train was decorated for Christmas and all of the staff was in costume. We walked through a snow machine and a hobo was sitting on top of the train waving to everyone. They played the sound track from the movie and read the story to the children, who had been encouraged to wear their pajama's.

We were served hot chocolate and cookies while we sped through the night. The conductor punched each child's initial into their ticket. We passed elf's playing inside an old train station and there, Santa boarded. Each child received a "magic" bell and carolers went from car to car. Our grandson was thrilled with all of this. It is something that not just him, but us as well, will remember for a long time.

Back to my card! This is mt DT card fog Crafts 4 Eternity. Our challenge this week is Christmas Chaos and we are sponsored by Sassy Designs. My image of course, is one of Sassy's.

Please join us in our challenge!

Vintage Christmas

Vintage Christmas - Today's challenge at Creative Card Crew is to use a poinsettia or holly on your paper crafted item. We are sponsored by Delicious Doodles. Do you see Teri's beautiful winter image in my card?

Here is my poinsettia and holly. My Holly is MD, the blue poinsettia's are SB, and the scrolled window and back scroll are HC. My papers are The Paper Studio, Old World Winter and were inked in Brushed Corduroy distress ink.

Here is a close up of my image. Teri's image is so beautiful that I only used soft pastels to give it a hint of color, then covered it in fine glitter. It really glistens in real life. While Delicious Doodles is know for her horror images, she has some really beautiful ones as well.

Yesterday, I posted a card made with another of Teri's beautiful scenery images. That one is a penguin family.

Wonder

Wonder -  I think this card is my favorite of the season. I love the colors and the simple design.

It is difficult to do a fancy folds card using a sketch, but I think this one worked out beautifully.  This is the sketch for this fortnights challenge at Seems a Little Sketchy.

Our sponsor for this challenge is Delicious Doodles. This sweet little penguin family is one of hers. While Delicious Doodles is best know for horror images, she also has several sweet ones and her scenery images are stunning. You can check back here tomorrow to see another one of scenery images. She is also sponsoring Creative Card Crew and that challenge goes live Tuesday. I will be using her On a Winter's Day image for that.

MY DP is Recollections Blue Christmas. My sugar paper in the corners are cut with a SB.

My snowflake punch is MS. The sentiment is Hot Off the Press, punched with SU.

I finished off the card with 3 pearls.

Vellum Poinsettia

Vellum Poinsettia - Two posts in one day. Can you believe it!

This is my DT card for Alphabet Challenge Blog. We are up to V; and V is for Vellum;

My card is very simple. I used  SU's mosaic embossing folder and then stamped it using a stamp from the SU Very Merry Tags. I added a tiny red pearl to the center of the stamps.

My vellum is this pink poinsettia flower, made using SB's poinsettia die. I inked the edges with Worn Lipstick distress inks. 3 more of the tiny red pearls were used in the flower center. I finished it off with gold ribbon.

Elf - It is Friday and that means it is time for another fun and wonderful challenge at Crafts 4 Eternity. Our challenge this week is to use this terrific sketch.

The sketch is very easy to use and you can get such a great result.

My image is Crafts 4 Eternity digi stamp elf - Lexi. Isn't she a doll?

I colored Lexi with Copics and then brought out my pink Spica pen and added some sparkle to the trim on her skirt, the top of her shoes and the silver Spica pen on the bell on the end of her hat.

My sentiment is Hot Off the Press. I punched with SU punches and added some ribbon and 3 red pearls.

I hope all of you are getting in the Christmas spirit. I love Christmas and what my Savior did for me on the cross.

A for Almost Christmas

A for Almost Christmas - Hi! I had the opportunity to guest design for ABC-Challenge. Their challenge is A for Almost Christmas! Perfect for this time of year! Thank you, Nikki, for inviting me! I had a lot of fun designing this card.

My DP is MME Winter Wonderland. The papers were inked with Peacock Feathers and Stormy Sky distress inks.

My image is Christmas Candy Fairy by the sponsor of this challenge, The Paper Shelter. I colored her with Copics and cut her out with a SB die. I did the faux frame technique using the Stormy Sky distress ink and the SB die. I added Stickles to the fur on her dress and slippers. I also dragged out my Spica pens for the gold on the ribbon.

My snowflake off the edge is a MS punch. The mistletoe is MD die. The flowers were in my stash and I inked the tips with the same distress inks. The pearl spray is from Hobby Lobby.

This die is a SB that I embossed and stenciled on with the peacock Feathers ink. My paper is pearled and gives off a really nice sheen.

Pink-Nose

Pink-Nose - This weeks challenge at Crafts 4 Eternity is Non Traditional Christmas.

I started with a base of white card stock and moved to pink card stock with Recollections Jolly Holiday papers. I love all the pinks and bright colors in this pad.

My image is Inkadinkadoo, stamped with dark brown ink. The image and mat were cut with SB dies. Leaving the die still in place, I gave the image a faux frame using Worn Lipstick distress ink.

Did you notice the pink gemstone "nose" on the reindeer.

While we are on the subject of reindeer. I can't resist to show you my visit to a reindeer farm in Alaska.

I went there in October to visit my son, who is stationed there at Ft Richardson.

The reindeer are quite a bit smaller then I thought they would be. They were very sweet and would come up to you to get the feed.

I finished up my card with 3 larger gemstones in pink.

I hope you will come and join us at Crafts 4 Eternity, in our non-traditional Christmas challenge.
