Floating Along

Floating Along - There is nothing more relaxing then floating along on the water. I am somewhat afraid of water or rather what is in it, so I do most of my floating in a pool; but I must admit it is so pleasant on a river or a large body of water with the waves.

When my son was in Boy Scouts, his troop did a family river canoe trip each year and it was a blast! Even when the boys dumped me out into the river. My son thought it would be a hoot to play at tipping my canoe and another boy carried it out. I was badly bruised where the canoe hit my leg. My revenge was to "Mom him" the rest of the trip. I decided that he must need extra attention, so I threatened to give him tons of hugs. Nothing is worse for a teen age boy, who wants to be cool in front of the the other boys, than to be hugged by a Mom in public. He didn't come near me the rest of the trip. LOL

For my card, I used some new toys that I had not played with before. My yellow designer paper is Afternoon Muse by Glitz. I sprayed Turquise Perfect Pearls Mist on my mat, then dipped a dotted stamp by Stampers Anonymous in it and stamped the yellow designer paper. I really like how it came out.

But I wasn't done yet. I then sprayed Sunflower Sparkle Perfect Pearls Mist and using the same stamp, stamped my turquoise card stock with it. If you look carefully, you can see the sheen on the paper. All papers were inked with blue Jean distress ink.

My image is Penelope by Michelle Perkett. Michelle makes the most lovely images. You can check out her digi images here and if you like rubber, you can now get some of her amazing images in rubber at Sparkle n Sprinkles here.

Penelope is a freebie that Michelle gave out eons ago, but she has a different freebie available every Tuesday here at her blog.

Michelle is our sponsor for this challenge at Creative Card Crew. One lucky winner will win a $10 gift voucher to her Etsy shop.

Our challenge is On the Beach/Under the Sea. I perfect challenge for Michelle Perkett's gorgeous mermaids.
My flower's are Prima. I sprayed the gold one with Sunflower Glimmer Mist and added some Stickles to it. The blue one was sprayed with the Perfect Pearls Turquoise Mist, then inked with Blue Jeans distress inks. I then used a gemstone to add more sparkle.

My swirls are a Quik Cuts die.

I did the same with the smaller flower, but reversed the color. The center is a blue Dew Drop.

My sentiment is Hot Off the Press.

Here is a close-up of the dotts. Aren't they pretty?

Reed

Reed - The challenge at Alphabet Challenge blog is M for man. Masculine cards are hard for me and that it had to be for a big man and not just a boy.

I decided to go Clean and Simple, again not something that is my strong suit.

My reed stamp is Tattered Angels, Seaside Coastal Breeze. I stamped it with Pine Needles distress ink. The sentiment is Hot Off the Press Masculine Collage stamps. I stamped it with black Memento.

My ribbon is Prima.

Now that you have seen what I made, I hope that you will come and see what the rest of the team did for this challenge and come and play with us at Alphabet Challenge Blog.

It's Your Day!

It's Your Day -  Here is a little cutie that I made for my Seems a Little Sketchy DT project. This one is so much simplier than my usual cards and it was such fun to make.

Here is the sketch for this fortnights challenge. I nice, easy one that is still gorgeous.

We are sponsored by Crafty Sentiments and this cute image is Blitzen by them. Again, it is a simple image, but a great one to color and how sweet is she?

I colored Blitzen with Copics and gave her scraf some Stickles.

My DP is from my scrap drawer and I don't know who made it. Sorry the scrap was too small to have the manufactors name on it.

My butterfly punch is MS. I added some Viva Decor pearls using my pearl pen.

My senitment is Hot Off the Press.

Thanks for stopping by!

Carousel

Carousel - What is more fun than riding an old fashioned carousel? Coloring one!

It is time for another sketch challenge at Sunday Sketch and Stamp. Just look at the one below made by my teamie. It is a fun and easy one.

For my card I used DCWV Painted Petal paper pad. I distressed my papers with my Tim Holtz distressing tool.

My image was cut with a SB. The purple stripes are ribbon and I used 3 tiny, yellow brads.

My image is by our sponsor The Stamping Boutique. I just love this carousel horse. It always colors up so pretty with my Copic's. I even used my airbrush on the edges. I still need practice, but if I never use it, I will never get better. I added some Stickles to the pole ribbon and the reins. I used lavendar Stickles on the stars that surround the horse.

Shades of Gray

Shades of Gray - I bet my title really grapped your eye. My shades of grey is not the hot books that are all the rage right now, but the challenge at Craft Your Days Away. Our challenge is to use shades of grey plus one other color. See, not racey at all. Although I guess it could be a racey color combo. LOL

Would you believe that I didn't use any DP for this card? Boy, I am just shocking everyone with this card and post. It is a stamp set that I bought at the scrapbooking convention.

But wait I have one more shock, hold your heart, this is a Christmas stamp set by Kaisercraft. That's right a Christmas stamp set. I just didn't use the Merry Christmas part of the set.

The large demask stamp, I heat embossed on yellow card stock. I really like this embossing powder. I has little dark glitter flecks in it. The demask image was cut with a SB.

My finishing touch is a ribbon that I hotglued to a button. You can find lots of beautiful ribbon at The Pretty Little Ribbon Shop, who is our sponsor for this challenge.

Now it is your turn to show us your shades of grey plus one at Craft Your Days Away.

Basic Black

Basic Black - Here is my card for Creative Card Crew. Todays challenge is to use black cardstock on you project. I think it is an under used cardstock color for cards.

My DP is DCWV The All Dressed Up stack. I inked all of it with Broken China distress ink.

Here is my image. She is Uptown Angel by our sponsor for this challenge, Kenny K Downloads. Isn't she the greatest? She was homework for my Copics class. We are working on Hispanic skin and hair. I'm not completly happy with it, but I will keep trying.

I added Stickle to her earring, belt, trim on her shirt and shoes.
I cut my MA swirl with black cardstock, then added gemstone to the leaves. The corners recieved some sparkle with a Recollections gemstone sticker.

My butterfly was one that I bought at a booth at the scrapbooking convention in Dallas.

My sentiment is Studio G.
I had a lot of fun making this card and I hope that you will join in our fun challenge at Creative Card Crew.

Laced Kiss

Laced Kiss - Time for another challenge at Alphabet Challenge Blog.  Our challenge this time is L for... Lace!

This is a very quick and easy card to do. My DP's are Graphic 45. The papers are double sided which is great; as I can use both sides and have them coordinate. Everything was inked with Tea Dye and Rusty Hinge distress inks.

My flowers are Petaloo. They came already glittered. My lace is Prima. I love everything that Prima makes. It is all so beautiful.

The image is on the paper. I just had to cut, ink, Stickles and pop-up.

My gemstone swirl is Want 2 Scrap.

I hope you will join us in our Lace challenge.

Howdy

Howdy - Wohoo! Another challenge at Seems a Little Sketchy!!!  The sketch this time was girly, so I decided to change it up and make it Masculine! I used an adorable little cowboy image from Ai Factory, who is our sponsor for this challenge.

Jen make the most fabulous sketches for us to use and true to form I turned it. I don't know if you have noticed, but I always turn the sketch before I start working to see to decide which way I want to do the sketch. It seems that I always forget to turn it back before I post it here on my blog.

I am so behind in my scrap booking and this sketch was a good one to work with. My DP's are Kaleidoscope by MME. I used my Cricut to cut the shape. I used the Gypsy Wandering cartridge.

All of the DP's were inked with Peacock feathers distress inks. It is in the spring color pack.

My sweet little cowboy is Ai Factory's image. It is a good buy, as there are several images in this set. I used only 3, but there were more.

My images were colored with Copics on Neenha Smooth Solor White Classic Crest. I like the way the markers glide across the paper.

Here is the cactus. Isn't it fun?

The circle are a series of punches by CM. I off set them and used star brads to hold them together.
This added interest to what could have been rather dull. (This is my tip for Top Tip Tuesday.)

Here is the star, another image in the Ai Factory set.

The sentiment/title was cut again using my Cricut. This time I used the Old West cartridge. I cut the shadow feature twice; as with the red it got lost, adding the blue helped it stand out a little more.

I just wanted to leave you with the photo on this page. It is me holding my grandson Jace in the NICU. He had to stay there for a week and I spent a lot of time in that chair rocking him. Jace is now almost 3 years old and is a strong, healthy little boy.

By the Sea

By the Sea - It is time for another sketch challenge at Sunday Sketch and Stamp. This challenge is sponsored by Crimson Cloud. Crimson Cloud has lots of lush inks, papers and flowers for your every crafting need.

My DP's are from one of my favorite paper pads, Afternoon Muse by Glitz. My corner die is CB.

Here is the lovely sketch that is the challenge for Sunday Sketch and Stamp. It is a good one, so I hope that you will join us for this weeks challenge.

My image is The Greeting Farms Mermaid. The was one of the first stamps that I bought I first started coloring with Copics. She is so easy and simple to color with her big open areas. I hand drew her rock. After she was colored, I added gemstones to her hair.

I used 2 different glitters on her. The glitter that is in the water, is MS ultra fine. The glitter that is on the Mermaid is SU iridescence.

My flower was made by stamping a scenic image on white paper, then blending it with spun sugar distress ink. It was cut with a SB, then wet and shaped. The layers are held together with a brad. The green curls are formed by wrapping a wire around a thin paintbrush handle. The gemstone swirl is Recollections.

Fancy

Fancy - I was asked by my daughter to make a Fancy Nancy card for a little girl who was having Fancy Nancy themed party. Fancy Nancy is a story book character who is quite popular with little girls right now.

I googled Fancy Nancy images and found this coloring book page image to use. She is colored with Copics and I added a lot of Stickles to her dress. A full colored illustration of this image had a tiara and butterflies in her hair, but that was missing from the coloring image, so I made my own tiara with rhinestones. I used Perfect Pearls to make the streamers on the image.

The challenge sponsored by Crafty Emmas at Craft Your Days Away is to use doilies and lace. My friend bought this doily diecut recently and cut some for me. I don't know which company made the die.

My DP is an old stack kaleidoscope by MME. The flower is Petaloo.

I love the lace; as it has very pale pink sequins on it.
