Believe in Mermaids

Believe in Mermaids - The challenge this week at Michelle Perkett Studio is "Under the Sea." This challenge is perfect for Michelle's mermaid images. This "Tiffany" image is the newest in Michelle's line of super cute mermaids. The buzz on this one is that it reminds many on the team of one of the characters from Sex in the City.

My DP is from my DDIL's stash and I could not find who it is by. Thanks Amanda! I cut the leave vines with my Cricut using the Cindy Loo cartridge. My ribbon is MS and I pulled some strings to get it to ruffle. My flowers are Recollections and the small purple flowers, I cut from a stem.

My image is the fabulous Tiffany by Michelle Perkett. Tiffany is colored with Copic's. The pearls are made with a Viva Decor pen.

Merry-Go-Round

Merry-Go-Round - This is my DT card for Craft Your Days Away. The challenge this week is Vintage. Vintage is becoming one of my favorite styles. The aged laces and cream are so warm.
My image is from the Stamping Bouquet. I fall in love with this image. It looks great in vintage, but would look equally cute in bold bright colors. And who doesn't love a carousel? I colored the carousel with Copic's and distressed it with Ranger's Antique linen.
My DP is K and Company Classic. The flowers are Recollections, my brown gemstone swirl is Want2Scrap. All of my DP was distressed with Ranger's Tye Dye. The image was cut with a Spell Binders. My big expense at the Convention was the Spell Binders Fleur De Lis Motifs and Accents. I adore this set. I added some stickles over the stars and swirls around the horse.

You can get Spell Binders and other really neat crafting products at our Sponsor Simon Says Stamp. They carry a wide range of products scrap booking and card making. Check them out and send them some Craft Your Days Away love.

I hope you peek over at Craft Your Days Away to see what the rest of my teamies have done with the vintage challenge. If you want to join us in the fun and a chance to win, you have 2 weeks; as we are a fortnightly challenge.

Embossed Hugs

Embossed Hugs - This week's challenge at Sew Many Challenges is to dry emboss. Dry embossing is so easy and can add so much to a card. I used a paisley folder by CB that I borrowed from a friend.

My DP is Allegancy be K and Company, my favorite brand of paper. I love their bold colors. I used 3 tiny stars in the upper left hand corner and I "lassoed" my sentiment Hugs. I thought hugs with a cactus was a fun sentiment to use.
My image is Donkey behind cactus by Sew Many Cards. I cut it with a Spell Binders and I also embossed the die cut pieces. It is colored with Copics and I used my olive colored Spica on the cactus needles.
My second card uses Cow and Chicken, and is today's Friday Freebie. I really like this image. Everyone on the team colored it so differently. I liked them all. You can get the Freebie today and today only.
Cow and Chicken was colored with Copics and I used some Stickles on the chickens tail feathers. I cut the bale of hay with my Cricut machine using the Old West cartridge. It is the icon image on the very last page in the book.

I also embossed the paper behind the image and pop-dotted the image up after hand cutting it.

I am entering the first card in the following challenges:

Asian Flair

Asian Flair - This is one of Michelle Perkett's new angels. This one is Faith. I love her hair. I have combined to DT assignments with with card. The challenge at Michelle Perkett Studio is wings (must use a Michelle Perkett image.) The winner will win a Michelle Perkett image.

The challenge at Creative Card Crew is Asian Flair. Creative Card Crew is sponsored by Bunny Zoe this week.

I colored Faith with Copic's in my favorite red blending buddies of R29, 39 and 89. I used my gold Spica pen on the vines and leaves in her gown.

My DP is Far East Stack by DCWV. The sentiment is from a coordinating sticker pack. I hardly ever use these any more, so I rarely buy them, but this time I found them on sale and I knew that Asian things are hard to come by.

The flowers are Recollections and the bamboo stems were from a bush that I clipped it off of.

The screen behind my card is a Taegu window. We were stationed in Taegu, Korea for 3 years and it was a gift. My best souvenir from Korea is the daughter that we adopted from there 30 years ago. She is a beauty!

Vanessa

Vanessa - This was the final card for the fun activities week that we had at Michelle Perkett's group on Paper Craft Planet. This challenge was the one hour challenge using any MP image with a quote. Being the event coordinator, I did have more than one hour to make my card. And boy did I need more than an hour. LOL I am exhausted after our fun, full week.

This image is Vanessa, by the fabulous Michelle Perkett. She made this one as a gift to me. If you look at the bottom right hand corner, you will see my name. Michelle added my name to the image. How cool is that!

I used Copics to color the image and the sparkly heart in her dress was colored using a pink Spica pen. I used my Sakura pen to trace around the flowers on her dress, and using a technique that I learned during a make and take at the convention, I smudged it with my finger.

My Dp is from my scrap drawer. I don't remember who made it. I used some heart lace and weaved a thin strip of the gemstone paper through it. The big pink flower is Recollections. The other two flowers are Prima's. I airbrushed the brown, then stacked another Prima on it. I quilled a punched swirl for the center of the flowers. The little buds on the ends of my flower spray are buds that I cut off a bush.

Punch it for Dad

Punch It For Dad - This weeks challenge at Sew Many Challenges is Punches. This is an easy challenge for me as I have a boatload of punches. MS are me favorites. She really does an awesome job designing them.

I created this card using Sew Many Cards image "Semmy the Snail." He was sew fun to color with my Copic's. I used Stickles on the butterfly to make it sparkly.
My DP is Alleghany by K and Company. Besides the punched border, I also punched the small butterflies and added some tiny pearls to them, using a bronze Viva Deco pearl pen. The hemp cord is threaded through a couple of eyelets. The yellow butterfly was in the spring Seasona; shop at Hobby Lobby last spring.
For today's Friday Freebie, I colored "Flowers For Dad" also with Copic's and made a ribbon bookmark with it.
I stamped the other images with varies stamps and then cut them with Spellbinders. It was so easy to make this bookmark and it is a great gift for Dad.

Christmas Angel

Christmas Angel - The fun and games are continuing at Michelle Perkett's group on Paper Craft Planet. The challenge that was added on Wednesday was to make a Christmas Angel. Here is mine using the Christmas Angel image.

I colored her with Copic's and used a new Seasonal pad that I picked up on clearance. I love the red and greens in it.

I added some tiny tiny red gemstones that I picked up at the scrap booking convention. This the smallest gemstones that I have ever found. I used some Prima flowers and ribbon the says "Joy to the World." I also used a snowflake charm. I hope you can join in all our fun at Michelle's group on PCP. We are having so much fun and there are lots of Freebie available there this week.

Monochromatic Birthday Calendar

Monochromatic Birthday Calendar book - I made one of these books for my daughter several years ago and I decided to make one for myself as well. It had been a long time since I had made something for myself. It took me a long time to pick a color palette, but finally I decided on a black and white color scheme. This page is finished and I will post the rest of the book when it is completed.

To make the book, you take 13 envelopes that are 6 X 9 and put all the flaps facing down. The bottom flap is sealed and all of the pages are covered. You can see that the flap is left and I chose to cover the flaps in a contrasting paper.

This is my August page. The top has the month and the flap opens to place any birthday card in it that I have made for August birthday's. All of my August birthdays will be written on the bottom page.

I created the August and date list on my computer. I used black and white tulle in a diamond crested slider. I believe the rhinestone swirl is by Prima. I made the bouquet with a variety of small flowers from the bridal section of my local Hobby Lobby and some more tulle.

The challenge at Craft Your Days Away is monochromatic and I hope you will join us. The prize this week is this adorable stamp from Crafty Emma's store.

Dad's Big Catch

Dad's Big Catch -This weeks challenge at Sew Many Challenges is Father's Day!!!! I made this card using Tayla Fishing. Isn't he the greatest! I colored Tayla with Copics and I used my stardust Sakura to make the scales on the fish.
My image was cut with a Spellbinders die. My DP is TLC Shapes. The little tag was in the TLC package and my stamp is Dreamweavers.

For my Friday Freebie card, I used the same paper line and used the embedded embossing technique.
I seen this ribbon badge don on another site using another image, but it worked for this image as well and this image is FREE today.

First you print the image twice. Take one of the images and cut it out. Sorry my photo is blurry.
I attached my ribbon along the bottom streamers of the badge.

Then you take your ribbon and use a running stitch along the bottom edge and gather it.
I then adhered the ribbon to the badge. Lastly, I colored the center of the second badge and punched it out and adhered it to the center of the badge. What is great about this technique is that you can attach a brooch pin to the back of the badge and then dad can wear it.

Wings

Things with Wings Challenge - At Creative Card Crew, the challenge this week is "Things with Wings." Your wing thing could be a bird, fairy, or a butterfly. I choose a fairy and I also have a dragonfly charm. Uh, another winged thing! My stamp is of an unknown company. I could not find a brand name anywhere. The DP is from my scrap box, the purple card stock was a scrap from cutting one of CB quilled flower. I thing it looks like the notebook paper torn from a spiral pad. I cut the image with my favorite SpellBinder die.

Our sponsor for this week is Simon Says Stamp. They the best papercrafting stuff. Everything from Copic's to Magnolia. Hop over and check them out and join us at Creative Card Crew for our Things with Wings challenge.

Father's Day With Michelle Perkett

Father's Day With Michelle Perkett - We were all stumped by this challenge at Michelle Perkett Studio this week. The challenge is Father's day with blue and brown. Michelle's images are so pretty and girly; but I must admit that the team rocked this challenge. You have to go and see what everyone did. They are amazing!
I used the image is Thomas and Thomas is a Freebie! You can get him at Michelle Perkett's group at Paper Craft Planet. You do have to join to be able to get him, but it is free and they ladies have a nice chat going on also. We share tips as will as what is going on in our lives. Paper Craft Planet has lots of groups and stuff going in all the time.

I tried making one of those ribbon/flower thingies. It was fun and so easy to do. My punch is MS. I glittered up the F on the DP, but it didn't make it stand out as much as I wanted it to do. My image was colored with Copics.

Beachy Fun

Beachy Fun - I have a Michelle Perkett side easel card for you today. The challenge this week at Michelle Perkett Studio is to make a bingo. You only need 3 in a row from the grid. I went down on the last row. Glitter, flowers and 2 backing/Designer Paper.

I colored my image (it is one of Michelle's freebies that you can get for joining her group at Paper Craft Paper) with Copic's. I used a new glue that I found at the great scrap booking convention, then added a fine glitter. It is called Scrap Happy Sheer Glue, by The Rubber Cafe. I can rub my finger across the glitter and I can not rub it off. The creator of the glue was demoing it at the convention. She even thought out the bottle very carefully. It is soft, so that it is easy to squeeze and has a fine tip.
She how her swimsuit sparkles?
LinkMy DP is K and Company's Berry Sweet. The flower was on a stem. I found it blowing around in a parking lot. My lace is Offray and the ribbon is Creation Station. The swirl is I want 2 Scrap, another buy that I picked up at the convention.

June's Sew Many Cards Blog Hop

June's Sew Many Blog Hop - For this month's hop we got to play with some patriotic and Father's day images. My first card uses Stryder Independence Day. I colored Stryder with Copics and used some lace Stickles on the flag. It is a star bangles banner, after all. LOL

My Dp is Miss Elizabeth. I cut the image with Spell Binders. I used some eyelash yarn and tied to star charms on it. I also used 3 star buttons.
My second card uses the Friday Freebie. I made mine a tie-dye shirt. I think most father's have a tye-dye shirt made by their children. My DP is Beach by Magic Scraps and I finished it off with 3 buttons. You can get the Freebie here, today and today only.

I get to give the Stryder image to someone who leaves a comment on this post. I will draw and it will be posted on the Challenge blog next Friday.

Next up is Deanette, so go there to see her lovely creations.
