Crimson Rose

Crimson Rose - I adore this image by Michelle Perkett and she is the sale image this week at Michelle's Etsy shop. I love how her skirt looks like an upside down rose.
When I orginally planned this card, I was going to do her in yellow, because red is so hard to do and it bleeds so much, but the challenge this fortnight at Color Me Classroom (which is where I take online Copic classes at) was to use red or pink. This challenge was set preciely because red is so hard to work with; and I am so glad that I did use red. I love the depth of it. I did not add any Stickles because I wanted the richness of the crimson to be the main focus. DP is DCWV, the All Dressed Up stack.

I did add some bling to the outer edges of the card and in the centers of the o's in the sentiment. Sentiment is by Hot Off the Press. The red ribbon was off of a Christmas package. The 2 roses on the side are Jolee's.

I hop that you will pop over to Michelle Perkett's challenge blog to see what some of my other team mates have done with this image. It is sure to be such a treat to see.

Jungle Gang

Jungle Gang - What is lurking in the green jungle? It is the Sew Many Cards gang. The challenge this week at Sew Many Challenges is green with envy. We were challenged to use green.

I thought it would be fun to cut this jungle scene out with my Cricut using the Zoo Balloon cartridge. I embossed the bush and ground with a QuikCut and a Cuttlebug folder. I used a couple of green distress inks and distressed it a lot.
The image is called Safe Travels. I love that it has so many of the Sew Many Cards animals. I colored it with Copics and cut it out with my Spellbinders.

I hope you will join us this week with a green creation of your own. You don't have to use a Sew Many Cards image, but we really like it when you do.

Bee Mine

Bee Mine - I have used today's (Friday's) FREEBIE from Sew Many Cards on this simple Valentines Card. This digi freebie is available at the store's web site today only. After today, if you want it, you will have to buy it, so head over there and snag it for yourself. I have colored the image with Copic's and added some googly eyes on this sweet little bee. My DP is DCWV Old World stack. I have had the ribbon forever and I don't remember you made it. The flower is Recollection's, Michael's home brand. I inked the edges with black and tied the bow with my Bow Easy.

Deco Butterfly Bling

Deco Butterfly Bling - Michelle Perkett has a new twist on her images. This one is Deco Birthday Lady. I love the flapper look of these images. Can't you just see her in the roarin 20's handing out this little gift?
I colored her with Copics' and added some Stickles to the butterfly in her hand, her hair and the big butterfly at her waist. I distressed the image with Antique linen distress ink and I roughed up the image, DP and the card stock to give it a more vintage look.

The lace has some pale pink beads sewn into it. It really glistens in real life. I also added 2 gemstone butterflies that I picked up at the Easter clearance last spring.

The DP is Fiskars. I didn't even realize that they made DP. I picked up a package that contained 25 sheets of the same paper at Big Lots. I use only about 3 sheets a year, so that all of my cards don't look the same and I also used this SP for one of my classes, which is why I am willing to buy such a large pack of the same paper. I fanned a strip of the DP to make the embellishment. The challenge this week at Michelle Perkett Studio is to use one of Michelle's images and to add bling. Come and join us there. If you don't have any of Michelle's images. You can get a Freebie at one of her groups.

Bird House Treat Box

Bird House Treat Box - I've had this template for awhile, so I thought I would give it a try. It was very easy and a fun project. I filled my with peppermints, but you could fill it with anything. It would make a great gift for a bird lover.
The tutorial can be found here.

Dreams come true

Dreams Come True This little beauty is by Michelle Perkett and is this weeks special. She is so sweet in her slumber. Sleepytime Fairy would be so great to use on a new baby card or for a sleepover invite.
You can head over to the challenge blog to see what some of my other DT sisters did with this image.
Sleeptime Fairy was colored with Copic's and I used spica pens on the moon's eyelid.

Monkey Business

Monkey Business - I have 2 cards today using 2 different Digi images by Sew Many Cards. The first card features Miki Hanging from balloon. Isn't he adorable? I colored Miki with Copics and cut him out so that you could see all of the "jungle" behind him.
The markers that I used are pictured below. The DP if you can believe it, is a Christmas pad by K and Company, I believe. I am out of town, but will check to be sure when I get home. The flower is a prima and the buttons were in the dollar bins at Michael's.

My second card uses the Freebie that you can get at Sew Many Cards today, and today only. So go and snag the image.

This Miki was also colored with Copic's. The DP was from my scrap bin, as was the wired ribbon. I topped the card with 3 gemstone hearts.

I hope you liked todays cards.

Celebrate the King

Celebrate the King - This fun image is an Animal With Attitude! digi. Digi's With Attitude! is our sponsor this week over at Creative Card Crew. I used to design for Digi's With Attitude! So if you look through my archives you will see more of my work with Digi's With Attitude!

This image is called Napoleon. I love his eyes. They are very intense. I colored Napoleon with Copics. DP is Safari by The Paper Studio. Buttons were in the dollar bins at Michaels. The yarn/ribbon I picked up at the Dollar Tree.

Napoleon was cut with a Spellbinder's nestie which I distressed with Vintage Photo and Tea Dye distress inks. Sentiment is by Hot off the Press. The crown brad is by Creative Imaginations.

Thanks with Love

Thanks with Love - This weeks challenge at Michelle Perkett's Studio is a sketch. I used Michelles Love Fairy and colored her with Copic's. I used my Spica pens on the leaves in her dress. It was a fun image to color and the sketch is super easy. I hope you will join us at Michelle Perkett's studio in this challenge.

The DP is a scrap. The ribbon was from a roll that I picked up in the bridial department. (The wedding department is one of my favorite places to get embelishments.) The pearl spray was also in the wedding department. The ribbon is MS.

Reach for the Moon

Reach for the Moon - Michelle Perkett has created this beautiful image for us. I love this image. It is whimsical and so graceful. Moon Rose is on sell 20% off this week. You can go the challenge blog to see what some of the other DT members have done with her. I colored Moon Rose with Copic's in blue greens and yellows. I used my Spica silver pen for the stars and in turquoise on the moon's eyelid.
My DP is MME Kaleidoscope. I think this was one of the first blocks of paper that I bought. It had 180 sheets of paper in 3 color groups. It is so great to know that I have a large choice of patterns that will coordinate with each other.
The ribbon is from my stash and I tied it with my Bow Easy. The flowers are Prima and the gem in the middle is Studio 18. The scrolled leaves were cut with my Cricut using the Reminisce Accents cartridge. Reminisce Accents is exclusive to Creative Memories. I cut image #8 on page 58 twice. I trimmed some parts off to fit it the way I wanted it. I added some brown wire that I curled around a pencil.

Birthday Blog Hop

Birthday blog Hop - If you came here from Laralee's blog, then you are on the right trail. If you are just starting the go to Sew Many Challenges blog so that you don't miss any of the yummy projects from the rest of the team.

This image is Eris Birthday by Sew Many Cards. Isn't he the cutest? I colored Eris with Copics and did you notice his tail? It is embroidery floss that I threaded through a slit that I made. The Dp is from my stash.

I embossed some green card stock with a QuikCuts folder with leaves. I used some orange glitter tulle for my ribbon and topped it a flower. The sentiment is by Dreamer's Design. I finished it off with Studio18 gemstones.
http://www.stamptv.com/ #8 sketch
http://www.sundayswithcrissy.blogspot.com/ #13 ribbon

For my second card I used Halen and Teddy. I colored it with Copic's and added some Stickles to the flowers. The DP is by Roseart. This is a z fold card and the image is attached only on the left side. I added some daffodils that I cut off the stem and tied with a ribbon. I finished it off with some purple gemstones in two different sizes.

I get to give both images to one lucky winner, who I will draw from the comments left on this post. The Halen and Teddy also is the Freebie that is available at the store blog. You will end the hop there, so make sure you pick it up then.

Blissful Love

Blissful Love - It seems that every time I need a fairy tale image, this one by Michelle Perkett always pops into my head. These two fairies dancing in the moonlight is my idea of Happily Ever After. The challenge this week at Michelle Perkett's Studio is fairy tales. I hope that you will all join us and color up one of Michelle's images that you think is Happily Ever After.

DP is from the dollar spot in Target last year. Enchanted Love is colored with Copic's. Sentiment is Hot off the Press. I used a new glue that I bought at the stamping convention that I attended Saturday. The glue is brushed on and then I added the fine glitter to the wings and the little hearts on the sentiment. I used stickles on the heart wings and the girl fairies hem. I wanted to use both techniques for glitter and glue to see the difference. As you can see; the Stickles is much thicker and tends to cover more of the coloring. Now that it is totally dry, I rubbed the brushed on glitter quite hard and the glitter did not rub off.

Ice Queen

Ice Queen - This image by Michelle Perkett is one of the four season goddesses. Don't you just love the icy feel of this card? I colored her with the Copic's that my son and his wife gave me for Christmas. The bought every BV shade that Hobby Lobby had. The each took a coupon in and bought them each week until they had all the BV's, so it was a real act of love (my son hates to go into Hobby Lobby.) LOL

I added some diamond glaze to the icicles, so that they would have that shiny look that icicles have. I also added some stickles and some additional fine glitter.
The DP was from my stash.
My old for the challenges is DP, stickles and my snowflake punch, my new is new Copic's, ribbon and a new technique of adding fine glitter to Stickles while it is still wet.

Ultimate Price

Ultimate Price - This image by Sew Many Cards was hard for me to work on. Many of you know that we have ties to the military and that my husband is currently in Iraq. Also, my son was just commissioned in the U.S. Army. What many of you may not know is that we have a bizarre connection to one of the 13 killed at Fort Hood.

The step-father, of my daughter's step-son was one of the 13 that fell that day. It was very strange to watch the ceremony on T.V.

The boots, gun and helmet is the symbol of a fallen soldier. I colored Owen saluting fallen soldier to look like my little Trystan saluting his step-father. Owen was colored with Copic's. I used some Matte Accents on Owen's shoes and eyes. DP is from my sash. I embossed the star with my star CB folder.

Thank you is the only thing that I know to say to our fallen soldiers. Freedom isn't free and I appreciate their sacrifices.
The challenge at Sew Many Challenges this week is "Flagged." You should see what the rest of the team did with this challenge. It was fun to see what everyone else interpreted "Flagged" to mean.
The sentiment I made into a dog tag.
The second card uses a freebie that that you can get at the Sew Many Cards store today and today only, so hop over there and snag it for yourself.

I can really relate to this image. It is tough to be sick when you are the Mommy. No matter how awful you feel, you still have to take care of everyone else.
I colored Bear feeling Sick with Copic's and gave the patches and cushion some Stickles to make them sparkle. The DP is from a stack that I bought eons ago. I cut the image with a Spellbinders Nesties. This one is the peony shape. Sentiment is from Hot off the Press. I also used 3 flower brads.

Bride

Bride - I made this Wedding card using the Fairy bride image by Michelle Perkett. She is colored with Copic's and I used Stickles and while it was still wet, I added fine glitter. It made it really sparkly. I added some tiny gemstones to her crown.
The image was cut with a Spellbinder Nestie. Then I distressed it with Tea Dye. The paper is a scrap that I had left over from my daughter's wedding Album. I finished this card off with a pink ribbon that I tied useing a bow easy.
I was able to use this card for 2 DT projects. Creative Card Crew's challenge this week is New things and Michelle Perkett's Studio the challenge is Relax - anything goes. Creative Card Crew challenge is sponsered this week by Simon Says. Simon Says carries a wide range of crafting Supplies to include Copic's and Spellbinders Nesties.
